24th Match: Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans
It has been quite a riveting journey so far and the action continues to roll on as Rajasthan get ready to go head-to-head with Gujarat in the 24th game of this 15th edition of the Indian T20 League.
Both teams have made a promising start to their campaign and have lost only one game out of the four they have played so far. However, it’s the toughest league in the world and there are bound to be setbacks along the journey.
Gujarat found that in their last game as they were handed their first defeat by Hyderabad and the challenge now gets tougher for them as they move ahead. They had an off day both with the bat and ball in the last game as apart from their skipper, Hardik Pandya, others failed to step up.
The form of Matthew Wade at the top of the order will be a concern and it’s high time that he starts firing as another exciting young talent, Rahmanullah Gurbaz is wait‐ ing in the wings. The rest of the batting order also needs to take more responsibility as it seems that they are too dependent on Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya at the moment.
Their bowling has great quality with experience and variety in their ranks and expect them to come back stronger in this game. Their opponents, Rajasthan also have a very strong bowling attack.
It seemed even more com‐ plete now as Kuldeep Sen showed good skills and composure in the last game. Shimron Hetmyer was brilliant with the bat when his team was under the pump in the last game and his finishing skills have been instrumental in Rajasthan’s success this season so far.
They have a well-oiled unit with plenty of match-winners in their ranks and Gujarat need to be at the top of their game to beat this Rajasthan unit. One of the key battles will be how Gujarat batters tackle four overs from Yuzvendra Chahal and it might well turn out to be a deciding factor between two evenly-matched teams. Can Gujarat get back to their winning ways by putting a strong performance against in-form Rajasthan?
Or will Rajasthan get their fourth win of the season? Either way, some entertaining action awaits us
